Career Development

We offer a variety of services to assist you in your career development including:

  • Individual career advising

  • Drop-in advising

  • Workshops on career and job search topics from resumes and interviewing basics of business etiquette and job search skills.

  • Fall/Spring Career Fair - these September and February events put students in touch with employers.  Career Fairs allow you to explore present and future full-time and internship opportunities.

  • Career Resources Library - an incredible source of information including career-related books, job search guides, job listings, employer literature and directories, periodicals, salary information and other reference material.  You're also invited to use our computer workstations that offer access to the Internet as well as Career Leader College, an assessment tool designed to help you decide on a major in the College Of Business.

Experiential Learning

Today, more than ever before, companies and organizations are seeking college graduates who have had career-related experience while going to school. The internship/co-op program assists hundreds of students each year in obtaining paid career-related positions worldwide. Experiential learning will help you gain specific job skills and work experience, establish network of professional contacts, supplement classroom instruction, develop self-confidence and time management skills. Services available include:

Job Search Assistance Services

It's everything you need for career success, including:

  • Resume and cover letter critiques.

  • Job search strategies.

  • On-Campus Recruiting Program - brings hundreds of employers to campus each year, featuring a web-based registration and interview sign-up system.

  • Mock Interview Program - provides helpful critique of your videotaped mock interview.

  • Web page - a comprehensive site for all your career needs from career information to job search assistance.

  • Salary surveys - information on actual starting salaries.

  • Professional Employment Preparation - a one-credit, in-depth course (BUS AD 301) covers all aspects of your job search.  Unique features include a dress for success program, business etiquette dinner and employer panel.
