Bethany, Information Services Intern, Principal Financial Group

During the summer of 2007, Bethany worked as an Information Services Intern at Principal Financial Group. She worked with the Intel Server Team, which managed all the servers throughout the company. She specifically worked with the virtualization team to virtualize physical servers within Principal Financial Group. Bethany says it was a great experience to have such a helpful and understanding team. She was also able to work independently and gain a feeling of accomplishment while also having the support and aid of her fellow team members. Bethany enjoyed the atmosphere that allowed her to work both independently and cooperatively with a group, experiencing both sides of the working world.

After talking with Kathy Wieland, Bethany found her internship on the ISU CMS website. Kathy then helped her update and perfect her resume, which was used during the interviewing process.

Bethany states, "Career Services is available to help with anything from determining what a student is interested in to aiding a student in finding internships and jobs to just perfecting a student's resume. They are truly there solely to help students through the job seeking experience."
