Academic History B.S. Iowa State University - 1979 Professional Activities Steve Bergstrom is a currently doing consulting work with his own consulting firm. His experience includes being president of Dynegy, president and chief operating officer of Natural Gas Clearinghouse, and senior vice president of NGC Corporation where he was responsible for all electricity and natural gas, liquids, marketing, supply and transportation functions. He joined Natural Gas Clearinghouse in 1986 as vice president of gas supply and was promoted to senior vice president, gas marketing and supply in 1987. Named executive vice president in 1990, he also served as a member of the Clearinghouse Management Committee from 1989 through March 1995 when NGC Corporation was formed as a public company and parent to Clearinghouse. Steve launched his industrial career with Transco Energy, Houston, where he was responsible for acquisition of natural gas from the Gulf coast and offshore Louisiana. From there he went to Enron where he became vice president, gas supply, Enron Gas Marketing. Community Activities Steve is active in the United Way, where he serves in the Young Leaders Society, as well as, the Special Olympics and March of Dimes. Iowa State University Steve is a lifetime member of the ISU Alumni Association. Steve is ISU Foundation Board of Governors, as well as the College of Business Dean's Advisory Council. Steve and his wife, Debbie, have provided the lead gift for the athletic department's Indoor Multipurpose Use and Training Facility project. They have also helped with a new 97-seat computer lab in the Gerdin Business Building, the Strength and Conditioning Room in the Jacobson Athletic Building, student-athlete scholarships, the ISU Marching Band, the Business College Founders Club, the Allen Scholarship Fund, and the Business Dean's Advisory Council Fund. Steve is a a member of the Order of the Knoll and longtime members of the National Cyclone Club. Awards He is the recipient of the Citation of Achievement award from the College of Business in 1997.
