The management, understanding, and dissemination of accounting and financial information requires a solid background in economic theory and real-world business practice.  The academic programs offered by the Accounting and Finance department are designed to prepare students for future positions in financial management, public administration, banking, and insurance. 

College of Business Accounting and Finance faculty are recognized for outstanding research accomplishments and business impact.  Our faculty also present at national and international conferences and are recognized leaders in their chosen academic disciplines.   

Accounting and Finance faculty include:

• Secretary of the auditing section of the American Accounting Association.

• Two faculty members serving at the Securities and Exchange Commission 2002/2003 academic year.

• Recipient of the Glen McLaughlin Prize for Research in Accounting Ethics.

• Received Top Paper honors by the Journal of Finance in economics and business as measured by their total citation impact.

• Recipient of the All Star Paper Award by the Journal of Financial Economics. 

Editorial boards of:

• Editor of the Research in Accounting Ethics

• Co-editors of The Financial Review.
