Dean
Personnel
There will be several staffing changes in the Cox Dean's
Suite. The departure of Lori Wirth, our commitment to
support the PhD Director, and an expanded need to support
the Gerdin Citizenship Program provided us an opportunity to
reorganize our administrative support - including shifting
current staff responsibilities and locations.
Karen Terpstra has opted
to move from her current role to take on the duties of
supporting our new PhD program as well as Dan Ryan and the
college's marketing efforts. Additionally, Jaime Maehner requested to move into the back office to
provide better support for our development staff.
As a result, we are
interviewing for two Administrative Specialists. One will
support Dean Labh Hira and Associate Dean Mike Crum. The
second position will support Associate Dean Kay Palan, staff
the front desk, and manage the Krieger Board Room, Gerdin
Citizenship Program, and the Entrepreneurship Minor. So
there will soon be two new faces in the front office.
Karen and Jaime's
moves will take place when the two new front office
positions are filled. I will announce their names when those
hiring processes are complete.

"Iowa State University's 150-Year Adventure," a special series
produced by Mediacom Communications honoring the university's
sesquicentennial, is now airing on Mediacom's Connections (channel
22 in Des Moines and Ames). The series is divided into three
one-hour shows. Each college is featured in its own 15-minute
segment, which highlights its history, current priorities, and
future goals. The series also showcases Iowa State's traditions,
campus beauty, and student life. ISU alum and KCCI anchor Kevin
Cooney hosts the series.
Set your DVRs! All three shows in the series are scheduled to air
consecutively Thursday, April 3, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The
College of Business segment is in the third hour. Our faculty,
staff, students, and alumni are featured. I am working to get DVDs
of the program for anyone who wants to borrow them.
The program will be aired again in days and weeks to come - visit
www.connections22.com and
click the "more" button in the "Today on Connections 22" box to view
the upcoming programming schedule.
