The College of Business’s engagement and service efforts with its constituencies receives high marks of praise.

  • Business recruiters consistently evaluate the services received from the Raisbeck Business Career Center as excellent (1.36 on 5-point scale, where 1=excellent)
  • The demand for faculty and student consulting services is steadily increasing; moreover, several large corporations are beginning to seek our help.
  • The Gerdin Business Building is used by several different groups throughout the year, e.g., The American Society of Women Accountants. In addition, the building is used to conduct training or seminars for a variety of groups, e.g., Iowa Association of School Business Managers Academy, ISU extension…

College activities also significantly impact the economic development of the State of Iowa. According to a 2004-2005 independent study of the SBDC, the long-term clients generated $77.1 million in incremental sales and 1,321 new jobs because of SBDC counseling assistance, and an additional $613.8 million in sales and 243 jobs were estimated to be saved due to SBDC counseling.
