Our admission
process is self-managed, which means that you are
responsible for collecting your application and all
supporting materials (academic records, letters of
recommendation, etc.) and send them to the addresses below.
It is very important to the quick processing of your
application that you separate the materials correctly.

Application & Fee
You can apply online or mail in your application
and fee. If you apply online and paid by
credit card, please send a copy of the
application to the College of Business only. (The fee will be waived if
you attended Iowa State as an undergraduate. A $5 processing
fee will be collected if you apply online and
are an ISU alum.) On the application form, please indicate
Master of Accounting as your graduate degree of interest.

Transcripts
and Degree Statements
Obtain official university transcripts and
degree statements from each institution
previously attended. You do not need to
request a transcript if you attended Iowa State
University
Financial
Statement
(for international applicants)
You will need to provide evidence of your
ability to financially support your graduate
studies at Iowa State University.
TOEFL/IELTS
(for international applicants If
your native language is not English, you must
submit scores from the Test of English as a
Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International
English Language Testing System (IELTS). This
requirement may be waived if you earned a
bachelor's or master's degree from a country
where English is the only official language. A
minimum score of 250 on TOEFL or 7.0 on IELTS is
required to be considered for admission

GMAT
Scores*
If you are not an Iowa State University
accounting student, you are required to take the GMAT. Please have an official score report sent to us. You can register for the GMAT by calling 1-800-GMAT-NOW
or visit the GMAT Web site at
http://www.mba.com/mba.
*Graduates with an Iowa State
University accounting degree will not have to take
the GMAT examination if their cumulative and
accounting GPAs are above 3.25.
Letters of Recommendation
We require recommendations from three individuals who can attest to your potential for
graduate study. Sources should be persons who have had substantial contact with you in
academic or work situations, such as professors or immediate supervisors. We suggest that
at least one of the letters be from an academic source. Recommenders
may use the forms included with the application
or their own professional letterhead.
Professional Resume
Include a copy of your current resume.
Goals Statement and Essays
You are asked to write a one-page statement
discussing your academic and career goals and
two additional essays on prescribed topics.
Essays help us assess your goals and motivation and your ability to communicate
effectively in writing. Click on goals statement and essays for information.
We will review your application only after
we've received all the required materials.
Although applications will be considered
after these dates, you are encouraged to
submit your application materials by
July 1stfor fall term entry, November
1st for spring term
entry and April 1st for Summer term
entry. International students should
apply sooner to allow enough time to get a
visa if admitted.
