Alpha Psi and Accounting Student Network
The
purpose of Beta Alpha Psi, national honor
society and scholastic and professional
accounting fraternity, includes the following: recognition of outstanding academic achievements
in the field of accounting; promotion of the
study and practice of accounting; provision of
opportunities for self-development and
association among members and practicing
accountants; and encouragement of a sense of
ethical, social, and public responsibilities. Traditionally Beta Alpha Psi has been an honors
accounting fraternity/organization, but recently
the organization has implemented both Finance
and MIS majors as well.

Gamma Sigma (Business Honor Society)
The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is
to encourage and honor academic achievements in
the study of business, personal, and
professional excellence in the practice of
business. Students from the top 7% of the
junior class, the top 10% of the senior class,
and the top 20% of the masters degree candidates
are invited to the initiation ceremony held each
spring. The $55 fee covers lifetime
membership.

Business Week provides
College of Business students with an opportunity
to network with business professionals,
encourages learning beyond the classroom and
textbooks, and provides a chance for faculty and
students to get to know each other on an
informal basis.
Business Week committee members plan the BBQ, high school visitation,
promotions, speakers, tournaments, and other
events.

The
Business Council serves as a liaison group
between the students and the faculty in the
College of Business. It is involved in
many activities, such as: Peer Advising
for pre-business and professional students (1200
Gerdin), representing
the College of Business at Experience Iowa State
Days, VEISHEA parade and festivities, Homecoming, Family Weekend, High School
and Career Days, sponsors teacher/advisor of the
year, and provides additional student
support/student prospective on selected
committees.

Entrepreneur Club
The
ISU Entrepreneur Club
exists to provide those
students who wish to purpose their own business
interests (at some point) a chance to learn more
about entrepreneurial opportunities. The
club meets twice per month, and its meetings are
devoted to "real world" interactions with
successful entrepreneurs and business people.
Membership in this club is open to all majors,
and cross-disciplinary projects are encouraged. Members in this club a) learn what it takes to
start a business, b) experience entrepreneurship
through jobs, internships, and projects, c)
network with other students and professionals
involved in entrepreneurship, d) learn from
speakers, and e) participate in social,
community, and university events.
The club is nationally affiliated with the
Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO).
Many Iowa State students travel to the national
Collegiate Entrepreneurs Conference each
November. Semester dues are $20.

Finance
Club
The
Iowa State Finance Club is organized to provide
both finance and non-finance major students
interested in the field of finance,
opportunities to learn more about finance and
its related areas. This is accomplished
through speaker presentations, field trips,
meetings, and social interaction. We also
provide opportunities for contact with the
business community to further our career plans.

International Business Club
The
College of Business International Business Club promotes awareness of and participation in
international business education activities that
reinforce the importance of international business
experience in the curriculum and careers of students.
The goals of the are to obtain knowledge and information about
international business, increase participation by business students
in an international business education activity
(study abroad, or study tour), to share the experience of international
students and domestic students who have studied
abroad, and to provide a social atmosphere that is
supportive of the purpose and goals of the club.

ISU APICS
ISU APICS is the Iowa State
University students affiliate chapter of the
Educational Society for Resource Management,
formerly named the American Production and
Inventory Control Society (APICS). The focus of
the club is to gain a better understanding and
appreciation for resource management, with an
emphasis for manufacturing, and to promote
beneficial relationships between students,
faculty, and businesses, as well as between
local, regional, and national APICS
organizations.
Membership within ISU APICS offers the benefits of
attending the ISU APICS & TransLog Club Career Night, the
opportunity of learning from industry professionals at our
meetings, taking tours of manufacturing plants, having
access to study materials for APICS certification, and
attending the last semester meeting at Hickory Park. The
club also plans one large weekend plant tour trip each
semester; previous destinations have included Minneapolis
and Kansas City.
ISU APICS membership is open to any Iowa State University
undergraduate or graduate student who has an interest in
production and resource management.
Dues are $15 a semester. Student membership for APICS,
the international organization, is voluntary and costs $25
per year.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management Club
The
Iowa State University Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Club is composed of business students
who have an interest in activities related to
careers in the transportation and logistics
fields extending beyond their classroom studies. Club members take field trips and interact with
guest speakers from the transportation and
logistics community. These activities are
designed to give the students a "real world"
experience about the day-to-day operations of
industry and to better prepare them to make
informed career choices.

Information Systems Club (MIS)
The
MIS Club, the largest student organization in
the College of Business, brings together those
students interested in sharing contemporary
issues in information systems management. The
club is focused on careers in information
systems, networking with professionals in the
field, and using and developing current
technologies.
The club has an excellent executive and board of
directors offering a wide range of student
leadership opportunities. The club sponsors the
annual Pre-Career Day Reception providing
students an opportunity to meet employers
informally to discuss employment and internship
possibilities prior to Career Day at Hilton
Coliseum.
In addition, each semester the club hosts
corporate trips. At nearly each regular club
meeting, held every second Thursday, a
recruiting employer presents information about
their organization. Finally, many club members
participate in the CyTech Challenge held during
VEISHEA each year. Membership is open to anyone
interested in MIS. Dues are $15 per semester.

Club
The
American Marketing Association (AMA) is an
international organization, consisting of
professional and collegiate chapters. The
ISU chapter of the AMA promotes awareness in the
marketing field. Monthly meetings enable
student members to learn about different areas
of marketing from guest speakers. The
organization also offers social, fund raising,
and professional events. The marketing
club is currently working very closely with the
Des Moines chapter of AMA.

The
Iowa State University MBA Association
(MBAA) is an
organization to help students thrive and
have fun throughout the MBA
program. We organize activities and sponsor
events such as presentations by local and

Business Network
The
purpose of the MBN is to provide a networking
system among minority students in the business
program. One of our goals is to share
experiences, ideas, and concerns that will

professional speakers, and ISU academic
speakers.

for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
The
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is
an undergraduate and graduate student club that
seeks to learn more about human resource
management and industrial relations. The

provide practitioner insights.

Business Lab
The Business
Analysis Laboratory is a unique learning experience at Iowa
State University. Students from the colleges of Business,
Education, and Engineering work together in cross-functional
teams to solve real business problems. Clients of the Lab
have included companies such as 3M, Lockheed Martin
Corporation, Andersen Windows, Maytag and others.
