Service Learning Projects

College of Business students and staff are encouraged to participate in activities that provide an educational experience while giving back to the community.  The community receives valuable assistance and our faculty and students gain real-world experience from the projects.  More importantly it enhances student learning.  Currently the College of Business is engaged in 87 service learning projects underway.

Students performed extensive case analysis of local retail operation and analyzed alternatives for it's e-commerce initiatives. Students offered a series of recommendations for initiative development, along with some pilot demonstrations of technological remediation.
Majestic Airwaves and other Non-profit organization
Students were asked to build a donation management system that enables non-profit organizations to manage donors, fund raising campaigns, and similar data. The system was designed for Majestic Airwaves, a non-profit organization that brings Christian radio to Ames. However, completed systems will be offered offered to other non-profit organizations such as the Story County Volunteer Center.
