Established in 1984,
the College of Business is the third largest college at Iowa State with a fall
2004 enrollment of 3,867 students. The College provides an innovative educational experience linking theory with practice for tomorrow's business leaders. The Gerdin Business Building provides a new high-tech home for the College of Business. The 111,000-square foot building, located on a campus recognized as one of the most beautiful in the nation, is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology. Featuring wireless access and high-tech laboratories, our students and faculty can replicate real-world situations in areas such as securities trading, management information systems, and market research.
These new capabilities combined with a solid curriculum, nationally-recognized faculty, and welcoming atmosphere, provide business students with an innovative educational experience. Our technology and information-based curriculum links classroom theory with real-world practices taught by world-renowned scholars. Ravenscroft Named Murphy Professor of Accounting
Sue Ravenscroft was named the Roger P. Murphy Professor of Accounting in a
ceremony hosted by Iowa State University President Gregory Geoffroy. The
professorship was made possible through gifts from Roger Murphy, an
associate professor emeritus of accounting from the College of Business. Read
