Samuel M. DeMarie
Short Bio
Sam DeMarie is an associate professor of management. He came to Iowa State University in July of 1999 and currently teaches business courses on strategic management and business policy in both the undergraduate and MBA programs.
Dr. DeMarie's research focuses on the effects of new technologies on competition and the workplace, including the phenomena of virtual organizations, virtual teamwork, and e-commerce. His research has been published in many top academic journals.
Dr. DeMarie came to ISU from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he spent four years as an assistant professor of management.
Dr. DeMarie received his Ph.D. degree from Arizona State University, Tempe in the area of strategic management. He also earned an MBA degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a B.S. degree in Accountancy from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff.
Dr. DeMarie has been awarded a Richard D. Irwin Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (1994), a Wells Fargo Foundation Faculty Research Award (1998), a PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation for the Business of Government Grant Award (1999), a Midwest Agribusiness Trade Research and Information Center Grant (2000), and a KPMG Business Measurement Case Development and Research Program Grant (2000).
