This study
tour will be a two-week study abroad experience for Masters’ students in the
College of Business. The course will provide students with the opportunity
to engage with companies in Europe to understand marketing and supply chain
issues in other countries. Students will also develop a better understanding
of competitive issues in Europe and an appreciation of cultural differences
between countries. To be eligible for this study tour, students must have
graduate status in the College of Business or be an alumus of a graduate
program in the College. The study tour leaders will be Dr. Rhonda Lummus and
Dr. Kay Palan. For more information about the tour, please contact either Dr.Lummus

Other Course Requirements: Attend a two hour orientation meeting, two weeks prior to the trip start date. Readings – The students will be provided a packet of current readings to be read prior to the trip. Written Biography – During orientation, each student will hand in a brief biography that will be shared with classmates and other participants. Corporate Briefing and Debriefing Papers – Each student will prepare a written briefing paper on a company we will visit in Europe, and present a debriefing on that visit. The students will select one of the companies we will visit in Europe and prepare a written briefing paper on the company. Included in the briefing will be information on products or services provided, markets served, marketing activities, supply chain design, supply chain activities, and strategic direction. Upon returning, each student will present a debriefing on the visit to that company. The debriefing should include a brief summary of the tour or presentation, new information about the company, information gained on supply chain and marketing initiatives and other International or cultural observations. Each paper will be 5-7 pages in length. An electronic copy of the corporate briefings will be due at orientation and shared with other students through WebCt. Debriefings will be due two weeks after returning from the trip and will be posted to WebCt for student access. Tentative Itinerary
