Membership is granted to students that pay club dues.  Membership length is for one academic semester, and dues can be paid at anytime during the semester.

Members will be disciplined or removed from the club if a simple majority of the club members believe that a club member acted in an unprofessional manner during a club event after he or she received at least one verbal warning from a club officer or advisor.

Article IV.  Officers

Officers of The LSCM Club must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a minimum grade point ratio (GPA) as stated below and meet that minimum GPA in the semester immediately prior to the election/appointment, the semester of election/appointed and semesters during the term of office.  For undergraduate students, the minimum GPA is 2.00.  In order for this provision to be met, at least six hours (half-time credits) must have been taken for the semester under consideration.
  • Be in good standing with the university and enrolled: at least half time (six or more credit hours), if an undergraduate student (unless fewer credits are required to graduate in the spring and fall semesters) during the term of office, and at least half time (four or more credits), if a graduate level student (unless fewer credits are required in the final states of their degree as defined by the Continuous Registration Requirement) during their term in office.
  • Be ineligible to hold an office should the student fail to maintain the requirements as prescribed above.
  • It is preferred that the LSCM Club officers be students in the College of Business and be familiar with the Operations and Supply Chain curriculum, however it is not required.

Officer duties change semester to semester according to how many students are interested in becoming club officers.  Below is a list of the current (as of January 2008 officer positions and duties.

  • President:  The President organizes and plans plant tours, speakers, club meetings, and sends out all emails to club officers about upcoming events. Officer experience is required unless all candidates have none.
  • Vice President:  The Vice President helps the President with organizing and planning events and is in charge of the club website.
  • Treasurer:  The Treasurer is responsible for deposits, vouchers, and dues.  The Treasurer must undergo Treasurer training from the Student Organization Department and keep an updated club ledger which must be turned it at the end of each semester.  The Treasurer is also responsible for keeping an updated list of paid LSCM Club members.
  • Marketing/Promotions Officer: Responsible for sending out club e-mails, designing club shirts, and helping recruit members

Officer elections are conducted at the last meeting of the semester if there are any openings.  Elections are conducted by a show of hands and a simple majority is needed for an officer to win the position.  If a tie occurs between candidates the previous cabinet will make the final decision on who will become an officer.

Term in office is for one semester unless it is in the best interest of the club that an officer remains in office which will be determined by the cabinet.  Otherwise an individual can serve for a longer period of time but he or she must be re-elected each semester.

Officer positions that need to be replaced for any reason must be filled with an individual that has received a simple majority vote from the club members.

Officers can be removed from their position if it is concluded that they are not fulfilling their officer duties.  A simple majority vote by members is needed to remove an officer.  Officers will be automatically removed from his or her position if it found that he or she is not meeting the requirements for becoming an officer.
