LSCM Club Constitution

Article I. Name &
Relationship to Iowa State University
The LSCM Club promotes a professional
and enjoyable atmosphere for ISU students to better understand the Logistics and
Supply Chain Management field and to provide opportunities for career
development.
Article II. Willingness to
Abide by University Rules & Regulations
The LSCM Club is willing to abide by
all Iowa State University rules and regulations including, but not limited to:

Club Officer Positions are limited to ISU
students.

Faculty, staff, and student partners may be
associate members but may not vote or hold office.

The LSCM Club is open to registered students
at Iowa State University.

Non-registered students, including the
faculty adviser may not vote.
Article III. Membership
The LSCM Club prohibits
discrimination on the basis of race, color, age, religion, national origin,
sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, marital status, disability, or status
as a U.S. Vietnam Era Veteran.
Membership is open to all students at
Iowa State University. There is no membership selection process for The LSCM
Club. Potential members need only to have an interest in the club.
Membership is granted to students
that pay club dues. Membership length is for one academic semester, and dues
can be paid at anytime during the semester.
Members will be disciplined or
removed from the club if a simple majority of the club members believe that a
club member acted in an unprofessional manner during a club event after he or
she received at least one verbal warning from a club officer or advisor.
Article IV. Officers
Officers of The LSCM Club must meet
the following requirements:

Have a minimum grade point ratio (GPA) as
stated below and meet that minimum GPA in the semester immediately prior to
the election/appointment, the semester of election/appointed and semesters
during the term of office. For undergraduate students, the minimum GPA is
2.00. In order for this provision to be met, at least six hours (half-time
credits) must have been taken for the semester under consideration.

Be in good standing with the university and
enrolled: at least half time (six or more credit hours), if an undergraduate
student (unless fewer credits are required to graduate in the spring and
fall semesters) during the term of office, and at least half time (four or
more credits), if a graduate level student (unless fewer credits are
required in the final states of their degree as defined by the Continuous
Registration Requirement) during their term in office.

Be ineligible to hold an office should the
student fail to maintain the requirements as prescribed above.

It is preferred that the LSCM Club officers
be students in the College of Business and be familiar with the Operations
and Supply Chain curriculum, however it is not required.
Officer duties change semester to
semester according to how many students are interested in becoming club
officers. Below is a list of the current (as of January 2008 officer positions
and duties.

President: The President organizes and plans
plant tours, speakers, club meetings, and sends out all emails to club
officers about upcoming events. Officer experience is required unless all
candidates have none.

Vice President: The Vice President helps the
President with organizing and planning events and is in charge of the club
website.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for
deposits, vouchers, and dues. The Treasurer must undergo Treasurer training
from the Student Organization Department and keep an updated club ledger
which must be turned it at the end of each semester. The Treasurer is also
responsible for keeping an updated list of paid LSCM Club members.

Marketing/Promotions Officer: Responsible for
sending out club e-mails, designing club shirts, and helping recruit members
Officer elections are conducted at
the last meeting of the semester if there are any openings. Elections are
conducted by a show of hands and a simple majority is needed for an officer to
win the position. If a tie occurs between candidates the previous cabinet will
make the final decision on who will become an officer.
Term in office is for one semester
unless it is in the best interest of the club that an officer remains in office
which will be determined by the cabinet. Otherwise an individual can serve for
a longer period of time but he or she must be re-elected each semester.
Officer positions that need to be
replaced for any reason must be filled with an individual that has received a
simple majority vote from the club members.
Officers can be removed from their
position if it is concluded that they are not fulfilling their officer duties.
A simple majority vote by members is needed to remove an officer. Officers will
be automatically removed from his or her position if it found that he or she is
not meeting the requirements for becoming an officer.
Article V. Advisor
The LSCM
Club advisor should be a faculty member in the LOMIS Department of the College
of Business.
The
Advisor is responsible for overseeing the club activities and must approve all
financial documents before submission. The advisor should also review the
monthly project statements for the club’s financial account.
The LSCM
Club advisor should be present at least 50% of all club meetings and should
receive updates from the club president and club treasurer on the current
proceedings of the club.
Article VI. Finances
All
monies belonging to The LSCM Club shall be deposited and disbursed through a
bank account established for LSCM Club at the Campus Organization Accounting
Office. All funds must be deposited within 1 week after collection. The Advisor
for the LSCM Club must approve and sign each expenditure before payment.
The LSCM
Club membership dues are currently, as of January 2008, $15 each semester.
Article
VII. Amending the Constitution

The LSCM Club constitution will be reviewed
each spring semester with a simple majority.

Amended constitution will be submitted within
10 days to Student Activities Center for approval.

Ratified constitutions must be submitted to
Student Activities Center within 10 days for final approval.
