Finance Specialization

Finance Specialization

The College of Business offers graduate work leading to the Master of  Business (MBA) degree with a specialization in finance. This specialization will provide an understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of corporate financial management and investments.

The finance specialization will prepare students to work for corporations and institutions (e.g., government, insurance, banks, and real estate firms) in a finance related capacity. A student may also enter the securities field in investments analysis, portfolio management, or the issuance of financial securities

FIN 590 may be used only with prior approval from the finance department.

Specialization Requirements:

MBA Core Courses - 24 credit hours
Comprised of an integrated series of concentrated courses plus course work in economics and statistics.

Finance Specialization - 12 credit hours
REQUIRED:
   FIN 510 -Advanced Financial Management or
   FIN 520 -Investments

ELECTIVES:
   ACCT 592 -Financial Statement Analysis
   BUSAD 533 - Application of Bus & Econ Tools
                       in Decision Making
   FIN 510 - Advanced Financial Management
   FIN 515 -Case Studies in Financial Decision Making
   FIN 520 -Investments
   FIN 534 -Agricultural Markets
   FIN 572 - Real Estate

Graduate Elective Courses - 12 credit hours
Select elective courses in at least two other functional areas
