Spring Break in Iowa 2002!
The Iowa
Human Resource Recruitment Consortium hosts the 3nd Annual Spring Break in
Iowa! The program is designed to provide
students with an intensive, project oriented, work opportunity over spring break. Modeled off the success of programs at Pella
Corporation, Consortium member companies are working together to market this unique
opportunity for students.
· The program is designed to be an unpaid
project.
· The company will pay for the students
transportation, lodging and meals during the weeklong program, March 18 22 or March
25 - 29.
· While participating companies may not
utilize the Kaizan method as Pella does, they will provide an opportunity to work on a
specific project that will ad value to the students resume.
· The companies will also introduce the
students to the company and community culture.
Through the
Human Resource Recruitment Consortium, the participating companies will sponsor an event
on one of the last days of the week. This
will provide students with a fun event to meet other participating students and employers. It will also give employers the opportunity to
encourage students to consider Iowa for their future careers.
The Iowa Human Resource Recruitment Consortium is a public/private partnership of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Iowa Workforce Development, businesses, communities, statewide organizations and educational institutions. The Consortium has a goal of increasing the pool of highly skilled, qualified applicants in Iowa by recruiting a new workforce and retaining Iowas recent graduates. In addition, the Consortium is working to showcase Iowas innovative and high-tech careers and excellent quality of life.
