Presentation Guidelines
Group presentations are scheduled on a random choice. Please check the
schedule for your date and time.
Presentations will usually scheduled over the two days of class session.
Each group will have 15 minutes unless specified otherwise. You will
not be given extra time to finish the presentation. The breakdown of the presentation content is
- Introduce members
- Discuss Analysis Stage - Here present the scope of the project indicating the users and
the need for the system. Explain the data requirements and data organization using the ER
model. Explain the process model through the use of the FHD. Indicate which
of the functions are automated and targeted for application.
- Discuss Design stage - Here present the physical design issues. Show the server model
diagram and discuss the design characteristics. Examples here include display, validation,
etc. Briefly explain a few of the modules (use module diagram) and any special
modifications you might have made.
- Discuss Implementation - The main thrust here is to demonstrate the system. You should
have examples of data insertions, updates, and retrievals. Also, if you have reports to
show, run them as well. Choose to show the most vital component and most
interesting part (for the client).
- Question and answer segment - Allow at least five minutes of your presentation time for
responding to questions.
Business casual attire is expected. Use power point or overhead slides for the
presentation part. Demo will be on-line.
Note: Please make sure that the system you plan to demonstrate has been tested and no
last minute changes are done after the test run. Rehearse the demo if you can.
The presentation segment of your project will be graded along the following
criteria
Working system 50%
Clarity of design/analysis presentation 30%
Responses to questions 10%
Professionalism 10%
