Dr. Jiang is an associate professor of Information Systems and the inaugural holder of the endowed Thome Professorship in Business at the College of Business, Iowa State University.
Before joining academia, Dr. Jiang had more than six years' industry
experience in China and the U.S., encompassing international trade,
management, and software development.
Dr. Jiang's research focuses on the use of data to support decision-making,
the diffusion of single and multi-generation product innovations, the
economics of IT, and software engineering and project management. His research has
appeared in leading academic journals including Management Science,
MIS Quaterly, Information Systems Research, INFORMS Journal on Computing, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data
Engineering, Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Decision Support
International Journal of Research in Marketing, and in conferences
such as ICIS, WITS, PACIS, and INFORMS.
Dr. Jiang's academic pursuits have been funded by both internal grants and external grants
from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National
Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
Dr. Jiang currently serves as an associate editor for
MIS Quarterly and
Information Technology and Management, and a guest senior editor for
Production and Operations Management. He received the MISQ
Outstanding Associate Editor Award for 2016.
